Animated Event Posters
The marketing for this year's Glory Daze motorcycle show and the Trippy Ten helmet art show kicked off recently. For our third year, I decided to switch things up with a lightly animated version of each promotional poster design. In addition to posters and social media, the psychedelic artwork was featured on the Glory Daze builder invites, the Trippy Ten artist invites, event information booklets, and custom shipping boxes.
With Glory Daze having a throwback funk and psychedelic theme, I felt it would be fitting to design the poster around the idea of a tribute to the late queen of funk, Betty Davis, who lived in Homestead, a Pittsburgh neighborhood very close to the where the event is held every year. She was even famously photographed with a custom chopper in 1976. If you're unfamiliar, do yourself a favor and dive into Betty's classic albums to understand her impact and influence on the music scenes of the 1960s, 70s, and beyond.
