This Sportster was one of those old bikes that never stopped changing. It hung out in my garage for roughly a decade, filling the role of a reliable bike that was always available for quick rides. I could never really figure out what I wanted to do with the Harley until my wife, Alexa, showed interest in riding it. I knew I had to keep it fairly simple. At the time, Alexa was only a beginner, and I was already trying to finish a couple of other bike projects on a limited budget. The goal was to slowly piece together something that was still safe and responsive while being lighter, lower, and unique enough for her taste.
